Hybrid Battery Rebuilding – Reconditioning & Sales

Hybrid battery services are primarily aimed as a support for Red Sun Imports’ customers who have bought their Toyota hybrid vehicles from us. However, these services are also provided to the general public & businesses as time and availability permits.

Note: Red Sun Imports only works on hybrid batteries. All other issues not related to the hybrid battery will need to be sent to a mechanic / repair garage by the owner.

At this moment we are only focusing on servicing & installing hybrid batteries on LHD and RHD Toyotas, namely: Toyota Prius C / Aqua & Toyota Prius. Support of other Toyota models are coming soon.

Red Sun Imports offers the following services:

• Hybrid battery module and/or battery pack analysis & reconditioning.
• Full hybrid battery pack balancing services.
• Sale of hybrid battery packs.
  • Used reconditioned individual modules or complete set of battery packs. (with or without installation)
  • New aftermarket Ni-MH cylindrical (with or without installation). Lifespan of approx. 3000 cycles.
  • New aftermarket prismatic battery packs (with or without installation). Lifespan of approx. 6000 cycles.
  • New high performance Lithium-Ion battery packs.

Hybrid Vehicle Scanning Service

We offer scanning of error codes of your Hybrid vehicle.

The service includes the following:

• Scanning of the vehicle hybrid system. Results from the scanning might include the descriptions of error codes of the hybrid system.
• Battery health test. This will give us the approximate percentage life left of the battery pack from 0% to 100%. This is only available for Toyota hybrid vehicles.

Battery Pack Analysis, Balancing & Reconditioning Service

We offer battery module or complete battery pack analysis & reconditioning service in one package, which includes the following:

• Scanning of the vehicle hybrid system. Results from the scanning might include the descriptions of error codes of the hybrid system (if there are any).
• Battery health test. This will give us the approximate percentage life left of the battery pack from 0% to 100%. Note: This service requires the hybrid battery to be removed from the car, disassembled, re-assembled and installed back in the car.
• Results from these test will be given to the client. Remedial actions are suggested then to the customer, which might include a regular battery balance service up to battery replacement.

Sale of used Reconditioned OEM Toyota Hybrid Battery Modules

This service is for businesses or customers who already know how to work on Toyota Hybrid batteries:

• These batteries have undergone battery analysis and rebalancing services and are categorized according to their capacity in Amp-hours.
• Customers can be purchase 1 module or as many as need.
• No warranty is given to DIY-ers as we don’t have quality control over a DIY’s work.

Sale & Installation of New Aftermarket Cylindrical Battery Pack (a.k.a. Bamboo Sticks)

This service includes the following:

• Removal of the battery pack from the vehicle.
• Complete disassembly of the defective battery pack.
• Cleaning of the entire hybrid battery cooling system.
• Checking and cleaning of the battery’s entire electrical cables and connection points.
• Check of the hybrid battery control modules for corrosion from the battery fluids.
• Replacement of the battery modules.
• Installation of the battery pack in the vehicle and assembly of the interior panels.

Sale & Conversion to Lithium-Ion Battery Packs

Red Sun Imports offers brand new Lithium Ion Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery modules. This type of battery offers 4 benefits:

• • Less weight. Weight savings are ~ 50% compared to the original Toyota ni-MH battery pack.
  • Improve fuel economy by at least 10%.
  • Will improve torque by offering more voltage and amperage.
  • These batteries have a built in circuit board that balances the battery modules. This is something the original battery pack does not do.
